P. Renée Wicklund

Senior Counsel

Renée is a litigator with extensive experience representing plaintiffs as well as defendants in a range of disputes, including consumer protection, bankruptcy, environmental, franchise, employment, and labor cases. She has prosecuted and defended class actions and mass-tort cases, and throughout her practice has represented both individuals and businesses.

Renée is an experienced appellate practitioner and has argued successfully before both state and federal courts of appeal, including high-profile class actions and nonprofit impact cases.

As a practicing attorney, Renée also teaches in the areas of legal writing, civil procedure, and consumer protection.

Renée joined Esbrook P.C. in October 2025 after 25 years split between Richman Law & Policy and Kirkland & Ellis LLP. She prides herself on a range of experience that gives her insight into the motives and tactics of virtually any type of adversary.

  • Following resolution of class action related to weed-killer products, defeated appeal of professional objector, petition for rehearing, petition for en banc review, and finally petition for certiorari
  • Argued alongside D.C. Solicitor General to reverse dismissal of action challenging representations about plastic recycling programs
  • Took over case related to child labor following dismissal on choice-of-law grounds and argued appeal for reversal
  • Argued appeal following dismissal of first-of-kind action challenging utility company’s consumer-facing statements about natural gas
