Jury Unanimously Rejects Fraud and Breach of Contract Claims, Fully Vindicating EZ Blockchain

Chicago, IL, March 7, 2025 – Esbrook P.C. secured a complete defense verdict for EZ Blockchain (“EZB”) in a $15 million dispute involving claims of fraud and breach of contract in the cryptocurrency industry. Following a multi-day jury trial in Cook County, Illinois, the jury entered a verdict in favor of EZB and against its former customer, the plaintiff Crypto Infiniti.

Crypto Infiniti alleged that EZB breached all four of the hosting agreements entered into by the parties, defrauded Crypto Infiniti, and that EZB was also liable for claims of unjust enrichment and constructive trust. Esbrook P.C. successfully defeated the latter claims on summary judgment and the case went to trial on claims of breach of four contracts and fraud.

The contracts at issue called for nearly 6,000 pieces of crypto-mining equipment to be provided by Crypto Infiniti and deployed by EZB at its colocation facilities across the country. The colocation relationship soured and all four contracts were terminated. Thereafter, Crypto Infiniti accused EZB of breaching the agreements and defrauding Crypto Infiniti by misrepresenting the scope and nature of the services to be provided by EZB.

At trial, Crypto Infiniti sought to recover millions of dollars from EZB based primarily on testimony from its expert who testified that Crypto Infiniti had lost more than $11,000,000 in Bitcoin-related profits due to EZB’s alleged failure to perform under the contracts at issue.

Esbrook P.C. presented a strong defense for EZB at trial focusing on the poor and dysfunctional condition of Crypto Infiniti’s equipment that was the root cause of the issues.
After more than a week of in-person testimony and considering more than 100 exhibits, including voluminous data analytics and testimony from three cryptocurrency experts, the jury entered a unanimous verdict in favor of EZB on Crypto Infiniti’s claims fully vindicating EZB.
