Martin is a litigator and trusted advisor with almost two decades of trial and appellate experience. He has represented individuals and businesses of all sizes including healthcare organizations, food and beverage manufacturers, real estate developers, contractors, utility providers, municipalities, and management companies, in all manner of commercial litigation, and complex business disputes involving fiduciary duties, fraud, and employment issues, torts, and contract matters.
His time as prosecutor honed his ability to think on his feet and handle a large case load. His time as a partner in a large law firm attuned him to the unique and varied needs and goals of business clients. Martin’s approach is to understand what matters most to his clients and pursue the best possible outcome as efficiently as possible. Whether that means going to court or helping his clients navigate a dispute before it gets there.
Martin joined Esbrook P.C. in September 2026 after 17 years as a prosecutor and partner at Freeborn & Peters, LLP and Smith, Gambrell & Russell.
Commercial and Business Litigation
- Represented a closely-held manufacturer in a corporate share dispute; negotiating a share buy-back that preserved the company’s survival and resolved an executive employment separation.
- Represented a national gaming company in connection with a public bidding process for a casino gaming operation, advising on compliance issues and litigation strategy.
- Represented a beverage manufacturer against various supply chain-related claims.
- Represented multi-national manufacturer and U.S.- based distributor of baby products in defending class action lawsuit relating to product packaging claims.
- Represented trucking logistics companies in defense of class actions claims, employee claims, and compliance with state and Federal regulations.
- Managed and executed litigation strategy for a general contractor to recoup litigation costs through bad faith claims for denial of defense and indemnification in state and federal court.
- Represented national managed care organizations in payor-payee disputes, including indemnification and independent contractor claims.
- Defended product liability claims against a tool manufacturer involving crane hook fabrication, design, and performance.
- Represented multi-national self-insured event management company for event construction claims, including bad faith claims for denial of defense and indemnification.
